"Because the poor one does not cease from the land, therefore I am commanding you, saying, 'You shall certainly open your hand to your needy one, in your land.' " Deḇarim / Deuteronomy 15:11.
We praise the Father that we are able to help those in desperate need, those who are unable to help themselves and who are dying before our eyes. We have been faced with two urgent needs: one in the Philippines and one in India. Until now we have had 2 families donate each month and the team has been helping out of their own pockets when possible.
Two team members in the Philippines went to visit an Elder in their country who has been helping a large group, when he and his family are able, who live in a local village and also many families in the mountains. What they saw was heart wrenching and heart breaking. No one who has His love should live this way. It was painful to see this suffering. As you all know we do not use HalleluYah Scriptures donations for this work that we have been involved in for many years, as we have been faced with these needs regularly.
Over the years we have learned many lesson in helping others and have put some rules in place. We like to know who the people are that we help, so we now will visit or connect with believers that know the groups and their genuine needs.
We are very big on sustainable needs and if a group is not interested in setting up sustainable needs for each family, then we cannot help, as we feel that a family needs to work and provide for their family and others if possible. We have set up a number of these over the years and they work really well. We sent up a chicken business for a family who were very poor in the Philippines and it is working really well and given purpose to the family.
Along with the chickens, we provide the material to build the coop and the chicken food. The chickens lay eggs for them to eat and sell to buy rice and veggies for the family, they breed chickens to eat and sell to purchase food for the chickens to eat. We also buy goats for milk so that orphans and widows have added protein and they can also sell the milk and breed the goats to eat the meat or sell to help with other needs.
MOST URGENT NEEDS. PHILIPPINES.
Here are the needs for the Philippines suggested by the Elder who buys and sells things to help where possible as well as helping his own family. He suggested for the mountain people that we buy 2.5 acres of land on which they can grow veggies to eat and on-sell. Also good for chickens and goats. We can also build one room for cooking to feed the people, orphans and the widows. The price of the land is $5500US and this would help long term so that funds are not drained. There are 60 families in the mountains that can be provided for long term, which includes orphans and widows.
"Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, and cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?" Yeshayahu / Isaiah 58:7
We also need help with monthly rice as this is urgent. The cost of the rice is $410US per month.
Eggs and Veggies around $100US a month. This can change when we get the land for them and they grow their own veggies and breed the chickens for the eggs.
There are a number of orphans, widows and families that have serious health conditions and they need to see a doctor as the malnutrition is quite severe with bloating stomachs and it looks like the bodies are shutting down. There are 10 that are in serious conditions and the fees for these 10 are $150 for the visit and we hope that this one visit will be enough to help them.
Warm clothes, slippers/shoes and blankets are needed, as some are living in mud with a tarp over their heads and at this time the rain is non-stop with a lot of winds. When our two team members visited, they said it was raining hard and very cold. The cost to help them in this area is around $400US.
The costs are roughly around $1500US for the above needs. These are just the urgent needs.
They also have a number of believing children and students that need to pay a school fee.
This school year 2018-2019 we have 90 kids to be supported.
35 elementary children whose fees for the whole year is 1000.
40 high school students whose fees are 1,200.
15 senior sigh school students whose fees are 1500.
1 college student, her fees are 10,000 per semester.
The amounts are in piso, Filipino dollar which totals $1800US for one year for all the students listed above.
Here is what the two team members shared about this group, which only covers the village and school.
A huge berakah on our first stay in Pampanga as this is our first time visit and we are so honored to have the opportunity to meet our brothers and sisters in this place. Also, this is the place of Mt. Pinatubo which erupted around the year of 1991 where the native Filipinos living near the volcano were mostly affected.
"Give right-ruling to the poor and fatherless, do right to the afflicted and needy. Rescue the poor and needy; Deliver them from the hand of the wicked." - Tehillim / Psalms 82:3-4
On our first day, we visited “Sitio Monicayo” where one of the home of the native Filipinos also called “Aetas”. This place is around 15 Kilometers away from the city.
It was raining heavily and continuously when we arrived there and we met Bro. Rupert who is in charge of the United Yahshua Ministry. He is a kindhearted brother that looks after the children and he is part of the Adopt a Child Program.Their mission is to send children to school through some support from believers and friends but as of the moment they have no support yet and praying that YHWH will provide for the children. He introduced us to each family with their children who are mostly believers (they are learning slowly His Word). We visited and interviewed them house to house and have seen their situation.
We visited and interviewed around 50 families in desperate need. And here are the numbers of the most urgent needs.
Orphans - 10
Widows - 7
Poor and needy family - 9
Plus 60 families in desperate need.
Here are the following needs:
Food for the widows and orphans who were malnourished
Shelter (one of the widows has no house and just stays on a small open tent with her children (these children go to school)
Clothes for children
Slippers for children
Medicine for children who have cough and runny nose, some of them have a big stomach from malnutrition.
On our second day, we are so sorry we have not been able to make it up the mountain in where 30 families live as the weather has worsen and it's very risky for us to go there by a single motorcycle because of the slippery road which is very muddy going up and it will take us 4 to 6 hours to travel by walking.<br />
Bro. Rupert offered to take photos of the people on the mountain and when the rain stops as it is so slippery to go up. What we did instead was walk from the village to the school where the secondary students went and take photos of the road where the students walk around 3 kilometers a day from their home to the school.
We found Bro. Rupert a kind brother who loves YHWH’s and His Word very much so. His priority is to teach the children and help them to be educated especially on His Word. He said he teaches them the Torah every Friday night.
For the livelihood/substainable needs programs (chicken, growing and goats) most families know how to raise them. For planting: most of them do not own a land and they ask permission to those people who have lands to allow them to plant like turmeric, banana, root crops, papaya, corn and avocado etc for selling and eating as well as sharing with others in need.
We have taken on a group in India who has a pastor/helper that has been working among them for the past 20 years. When we replied to his email, we mentioned sustainable needs which we are very strong on, as explained above. He said he was very open to this and felt it was the best thing for the people.
We know a brother from the US who lives not far from this Pastor and has visited him a number of times over the past 20 years. We feel we can trust him and those that work around him as his heart is for YHWH's people.
This is a message from the USA brother who lives in India.
I do know Pastor Moshe here in India. He is a sincere Sacred Name believer of the Torah oriented Messianic faith. I have known him for about twenty years. I recently helped raise some funds for him for the construction of a small prayer hall and water pump there at his location. Moshe lives about 2.5 hrs. by bus from me. Moshe himself is not able to speak or write English but he takes the help of translators to send the letters, emails etc. He also told me that he wanted to construct a simple shed for a dining hall (we gather this is the feed the very poor and needy). I believe are worthy of support.
Moshe is not an educated man so he does not lead any other groups but he is in fellowship with many and friends in S. India.
Do let me know if you would like any assistance from me to see that any help you send go for the purpose you intended.
This is who is in desperate need in this group.
16 members need urgent help
total of 53
7 members can raise chicken
5 members can raise goats
4 members can grow vegetables .
We would like to start providing food for this group and cover some of the basic needs and then see them work toward growing veggies, looking after chickens and milking goats, as this will really help them get on their feet and provide for their own needs. We feel it is important that they work to provide their own needs and that the needs are met long term. That is why it is important to put sustainable needs in place as this helps long term. The feeding and basic needs are needed now but long term, we would like to put in the sustainable needs in place.
We kindly ask you to pray about these situations and, as we have shared in the past, we are very strict with those we help, as we know that many people in India and other poorer countries use the Names to extract money out of people, but use the funds on themselves. We, or those we know and trust, visit and monitor each need so that honesty is in place. We take this part of our work very serious and are passionate about it. We have a team of 4 on the team who work on the orphan, widows and truly needy programs, as they mean a lot to us.
Thank you to all our supporters. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for praying, fasting and donating to this important project that helps the very needy through this work. You are sowing into many lives and not into man's pockets or livelihoods, as we feel our treasure is above and not on this earth.
