Our brother (whose photos are shown in this article) is one of the few survivor of the monstrous super-typhoon “Haiyan” that recently hit the Philippines (particularly the Samar and Leyte areas). The city where he lives has been 95% completely destroyed.
Amidst this calamity, He has been suffering from “bronchial and respiratory infection” and battling a more serious condition for the last 2 years. He came to truth not long ago thru an Elder in the Philippines. This elder shared the HalleluYah Scriptures with him. He was so overjoyed when he received his very own copy of this special treasure.
He had prayed to the Father thru His Son for help, for the forgiveness of his past sins, and for deliverance. He came from a large family with 8 siblings and sick grandmother who was also living with them before she died this November (after the Haiyan typhoon).
When we received this young brother’s letter a few weeks before the super typhoon happened, the Ruach touched a number of hearts on the team and the Ruach shared with us this young boy’s story even before he shared it with a team member who called him, which confirmed what the Ruach has imparted to us. The Ruach laid out his life in pain and laid it in our hearts to help in the best way we could. We just could not stand by and do nothing as the Ruach hit some of us so hard.
Even if he did not mention about this at first, the Ruach has touched two of our team members to go an extra mile. One of them, who lives in the Philippines, gave this young boy a call and this brother was so overjoyed to receive the call and shared his life. The phone calls from our volunteer to him were heartbreaking, yet inspiring.
Here is part of his conversation to our team member in the Philippines when she took the time to ring as the Ruach put it on her heart:
“Even though I was very busy these days, the Ruach seemed to be ‘insisting” to me to give him a call. Even while I talked to him about sending a gift to help his family, his answer was: “I am already very, very thankful for the HalleluYah Scriptures copy!”. The three things he wanted the most are: that YHWH forgives his dark past, that YHWH will heal him and that YHWH will send an elder at their place coz that Elder who showed the HS was only temporary in their congregation. This is a new walk and he said he really needs prayer and someone to visit him and share with him. He is humble enough to admit his vulnerabilities.”
“I just got off the phone with [this brother]; he is very touched and thankful to the parcel that will be arriving from US. I could feel his sincerity when he confessed about his past and, how YHWH led him to an Elder from whom he saw the HS.”
“He felt that his prayer was answered when we gave Him a call. I told him YHWH will surely excuse him for his past and YHWH is the one who giving him the US parcel and the planned little gift via from someone on the team, but Almighty YHWH will certainly be watching Him for his present life and future.”
Posted are scenes from Nov 8, 2013 Typhoon “Haiyan” aftermath. It is rated the worst Typhoon in history and 3.5 times stronger than Katrina.
The death toll is more than 5,000 with 1,500 missing and maybe much more as many do hunger and become sick.
At least 11 million were affected. Many have lost their homes and everything they own.
Let us be thankful and grateful daily for what we have as most brothers and sisters we deal with live in such harsh conditions. We must never complain for we complain against YHWH who has provided for us and our needs. Complaining is an abomination to Him and He destroyed many for this act. We must be grateful for what we have and help those who are without if it is in our power to do so.
As believers, we have no reason to complain about our situation when there is so many in desperate need and live in conditions that are never seen or heard of in the western world. Some feel they are hard done by but truly when you see other people’s conditions and the way that most of them deal with continue to live in hopefulness, you would be so amazed.
This young brother was so touched by the Great love of the Father and His Son that all that he ever wanted was a copy of YHWH’s Word. All he was concerned about was prayer for his family. Just looking at his pictures can struck a chord in our hearts and do each time we see them. There are thousands we have dealt with that are so pitiful and have nothing economically, but this young boy has been ill for 2 years and his only concern is his family. How unselfish is that.

“Dear … HS Mission Team,
Thank you for your email and for sending me the HalleluYah Scriptures. I received it this afternoon, October 30, here in the Philippines.
Attached are the photos I tried to take with my computer camera. They are not that good resolution. I will try to get better ones with a camera when I get time, unless these photos are fine. Also, I apologize I may look sick in these photos. I have been suffering for sickness for the past 2 years and having a terrible flu lately. Thank you for the words of healing. If I can request from the team for prayers for myself and my family, please include us in your prayers.”
Also, I learned from your website that you are coming up with audio versions of the scriptures. Kindly send me that as well. I learned that ‘faith comes from hearing the word’. I would really want to have the audio version played when I cannot read due to my sickness.”
His letter is a far cry from those who demand and fill it is their right to get a free copy when they have a number of restored Name Scriptures and can afford to help others, as his ONLY request is the Father’s Word and the audio. Honestly brothers and sisters, this job is not easy and it is heartbreaking, this is only one of thousands of emails we receive that have touched our hearts deeply and left us weeping.
We lost contact with this special brother when the Typhoon hit, our hearts were sad. We prayed and wept for him and his family to be safe.
One of the team sent an email into Philippine Red Cross to find him and his family. HalleluYah, 4 days later we got a call from this special brother that he was fine but his grandmother had lost her life. We were so excited that he was alive, our prayers were answered once again. He said that the Father was with him and that he had total faith that the Father was looking after him and his family.
During the first 4-days after the strong typhoon, he said the Father looked after them. He said : “Though our meals were not the meals we were used to eat in a daily basis, praise Yah we were able to gather some fruits and vegetables scattered around our village. Also, when we ran out of water, we picked up coconut fruits and drank coconut juice as our water for the first 4 days after the typhoon….
